About anti-racism education
In 2020, the then Hallam Teaching School Alliance was commissioned to produce a series of anti-racism lessons. The purpose of these was to provide teachers with materials and resources to engage their students around some of these challenging themes. At the time, many schools were seeking materials to support them talk to students about movements such as Black Lives Matter that were in the news at the time. Hallam Teaching School also developed a training programme for schools that could be delivered alongside or separately to the lesson materials.
Hallam Teaching School Alliance no longer exists. However, the umbrella organisation (St Clare CMAT) has continued hosting the Anti-racism Education website in order that schools and educators wishing to access anti-racism training and resources can continue to do so.
Anti-Racism Education is now maintained by Katie Bayley, an independent trainer. As an organisation rooted in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, St Clare CMAT promotes a just and equal society. However, any views expressed on this website are not necessarily those of St Clare CMAT. Any training offered through Anti-racism Education is designed and delivered by Katie Bayley, and does not necessarily represent the views of St Clare CMAT.
